“Grab Your Guitar And Start Playing Now”

J’attendrai Tips and Chordal Ideas

In this lesson I’ll show you some cool ways of getting around J’attendrai using some really nice chordal ideas which can be used when playing a solo, or if you perform the piece unaccompanied. I’ve used voicings down the bottom of the neck using where possible open voicing.

I cover J’attendrai in volume 4 of the Gypsy Jazz Songbook series.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment or question below. Cheers.

The J’attendrai Lesson was absolutely Killer. I have gotten a lot from your books
but seeing it live is even better. You might consider selling a series of videos.

All the best I hope Salvadore is doing well.

Great little clip, the repetition lengthening the peice by a couple of chords each time is really useful and the speed just right. Going to go off and practise somoe of that stuff now! Looking forward to the next gem.
Hope alls well in Amsterdam

Robin,

Nice Tritone sub on that II, V, lead down to CMa9. Also I never noticed before until watching this video clip that you used that descending line. I have to go back and check out your CD. Don’t know how I missed it. I going to have to steal it! LOL

Cheers,

~Don

I also think this is really good. I agree that your “adding on”, and repeating the chords at each step, is really helpful. Speed is just right. Excellent voicings too, for those of us who know our “blues B7ths” and eager to learn more. I too think you could sell a series of videos like this, pitched at about this level of know-how (I’d sign up, anyway) Thanks, Greg T
