Thanks Robin...Great Christmas gift!...hope you have a healthy and happy Christmas and New Year.
Man, I like the way you teach!
There's a bunch of guitar monsters out there, but just because they can do it doesn't mean they can teach it.
I can't count how many times I've laid out my money and watched some video
lesson with my mouth open saying: ".....what???"
So many of them just play the lick.....yeah, a LITTLE slowly...but then, that's it......most of the time they don't even tell which string....which finger....it's terrible.
But not you!!!
I watched you on this one, and I had it in a minute!!......not because I'm a hotshot, but because of the way YOU TAUGHT IT!
Thanks again.......keep those books coming!!
(I'm still waiting for Gypsy Jazz Licks Vol. 2......pleeeeeze!)
Best Wishes,
Steve

Thanksgiving is the best holiday we have over here. It's not about war, and it's a chance to reflect and count our blessings. I'm thankful for you and your generous gifts to us aspiring gypsies. Without your books and play-alongs, I'd probably still be struggling and trying to figure it out. Instead, I'm having a blast playing it. Thanks for the lick -- it sounds like it was lifted off the pedal steel. Can't wait to try it in a jam. All the best to you and yours.

Menno - You can use the lick over ANY major OR Dom 7th chord -for example
you could practice it over Sweet Georgia Brown moving the lick around when those 7th chords change. For the E7 you would play it on the 7th fret -then A7
starting on the 12th fret (like demonstrated in the vid)
Good luck and talk soon mate!

Fun hee-haw lick Robin. As a tribute to Thanksgiving Day, great to play it as part of 2nd and 4th measures of Turkey in the Straw. (Hey, great to see you here too Menno)
